Memphis
It was just a night on a tired bar in Memphis
even those who went there didn’t stay
open all night, a bar in Memphis
the only thing you know you’ll have to pay
there’s a fairy of a young boy raised in Memphis
a preceder of Clinton and his smile
he would leave his guitar way down in old Memphis
and actually he stayed there for a while
its America,
its hysteria
its a frame gone beyond its own proportions,
it is trivia,
its Siberia,
its a world that only knows its own extensions
I spent some time searching down in Memphis
someone said what your search you wont find here
I passed the bottom line down in Memphis
grew contempt and settled for a beer
I took on some rephrasing down in Memphis
where the buildings left, the spirits gone away,
from a middle class palais down in Memphis
like everybody else I didn’t stay
Its a party
